Showcasing Your Geotechnical Engineering Skills

The Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers is hosting the Geo-Challenge 2025 at Geotechnical Frontiers in Lousville, KY. This competition is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their geotechnical engineering skills and compete for awards and recognition.

Organizational Member/Student Career Fair

Monday, March 3 | 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Location: Exhibit Hall, next to the Geo-Wall student competition, Kentucky International Convention Center.

We’re excited to invite you to participate in the Organizational Member/Student Career at Geotechnical Frontiers!

The Career Fair will be open to all students attending Geotechnical Frontiers 2025, including undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the 60 travel grant recipients, selected by the Organizational Member Council. The 60 travel grant recipients will be required to carry a “Career Fair Passport,” which will be stamped by company representatives after each interview.

Student Travel Grant Opportunity

This grant is available to currently enrolled students from colleges or universities in the United States who are actively seeking employment and are interested in attending the Career Fair during Geotechnical Frontiers.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a currently enrolled student at a US college or university.
  • Be a student member of the Geo-Institute.
  • Be actively seeking employment (internships, co-ops, or full-time positions).
  • Be able to attend the Career Fair on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 1pm to 5pm in the Exhibit Hall of the Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, KY. This is a drop-in event.

Submit Student Travel Grant Application

The deadline for the Student Travel Grant applications has been EXTENDED to January 10, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST! Don’t miss this opportunity to apply.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT APPLICANTS

  1. Submission of the application does not guarantee a travel grant. The Organizational Member Council will review all submissions and select the 60 recipients based on the eligibility criteria and the quality of applications.
  2. Travel grants of $300 will only be awarded after recipients participate in the Career Fair and return their completed “Career Fair Passports.” Each passport must have at least five stamps from company representatives, obtained after interviews during the Career Fair.
  3. You can submit your application now, and there is no need to be registered for the conference at this stage. However, if selected as a travel grant recipient, you will need to accept the grant and confirm your registration for Geotechnical Frontiers by February 3, 2025 to receive the award.
